Pilgrim’s mirrors

For this project, I choose to work
on a Jais Nielsen ceramic piece
of the Hjorth museum of Bornholm.

The plate bears the name of «Judasskysset». (the Judas’kiss)
I found interesting to work on a piece that treated religion through an aesthetic point.

I always wanted to build a project link to the christian religion. When I visited the Hjorth museum in Rønne, I get that I had there a great opportunity to deal with this subject.

The emergence of this project came later from two trips : First, I have been visiting plenty of the most important religious places in Pragua, in Czech Republic. There I discovered one of the best preserved architecture in Europe in terms of religious edifices. This is where I choose to go deep on this way of working around christianity.

After having visiting Pragua’s churches, I crossed and visited almost all the churches and cemeteries of the Bornholm island.
I found an incredible precaution to the golden and shining elements in the St-Paul's church in Pedersker and I decided to brung that with the brass elements of my mirrors.

Thanks to these mirrors, the faithful can restore their confidence by remembering that their faith is a pleasant subject.
